A coordination meeting on rice export activities was held on 10 March 2026 at the Park Royal Hotel in Yangon. The meeting was organized by the Myanmar Rice Federation, in collaboration with the Export Promotion Working Committee and member rice exporting companies.
During the meeting, participants discussed the rice export performance for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, export targets for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, export promotion strategies, as well as challenges and difficulties encountered in the export process. Matters relating to the implementation of Rice Export Zones were also deliberated.
Attendees actively contributed recommendations, raised questions, and engaged in discussions, to which the Chairman of the Federation and relevant officials provided clarifications and responses.
As of 10 March 2026, the Myanmar Rice Federation reported a total rice export volume of 2,506,050 metric tons for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, exceeding the volume exported during the same period of the previous fiscal year. In line with the guidance of the Ministry of Commerce, efforts are being prioritized to further promote exports as much as possible before the end of the fiscal year in March.
