The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) actively participated in the Myanmar–Japan Business Forum, which was held on 28 July 2026 at the Myanmar Convention Centre (MCC) in Mayangone Township, Yangon. As part of its participation, MRF organized an exhibition booth showcasing Myanmar’s rice sector, while MRF Chairman U Ye Min Aung joined the Panel Discussion to exchange views on opportunities for strengthening Myanmar–Japan economic cooperation.

At the MRF exhibition booth, visitors were introduced to registered Japonica rice varieties cultivated in Myanmar, premium-quality Myanmar Pawsan rice suitable for export to Japan, value-added products derived from rice and rice by-products, rice husk biomass fuel briquettes produced from agricultural waste, rice bran oil processing, and potential investment opportunities for Japanese companies in Myanmar’s agricultural sector.

The MRF exhibition booth was visited by distinguished Myanmar and Japanese guests led by H.E. President U Min Aung Hlaing. Guests were served Japanese cuisine, including sushi prepared with Myanmar rice and Sekihan (Japanese red bean sticky rice), demonstrating the suitability and quality of Myanmar rice for Japanese cuisine.

During the forum, Japanese companies also expressed strong interest in importing Myanmar Pawsan rice, glutinous rice, and rice bran oil. Productive discussions were held between both sides, creating promising prospects for future trade cooperation and the export of Myanmar rice and related products to the Japanese market.
