The Rice Export Zone (REZ) Awareness Workshop was successfully held on 27 May 2026 at the UMFCCI Mingalar Hall in Yangon through a hybrid format, bringing together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to strengthen collaboration in the implementation of the Rice Export Zone initiative.

Presentations covered the project’s financial and operational framework, the roles and responsibilities of participating exporting companies, loan application procedures, financing terms and compliance requirements, as well as implementation guidelines for effective collaboration with farmers.
Technical sessions also focused on promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), the use of certified quality seeds, and the application of organic fertilizers to improve rice production quality and sustainability within the Rice Export Zone.

Representatives from participating companies actively exchanged views on practical challenges encountered during project implementation and proposed recommendations for improving standard operating procedures. They also raised questions regarding REZ implementation processes, which were addressed through discussions and clarifications provided by responsible officials and representatives from relevant government agencies and industry organizations.
