A Rice Knowledge Exhibition was held on 13 March 2026 at Myoma Market, Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, to commemorate World Consumer Rights Day. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce, the Department of Consumer Affairs, and the Myanmar Rice Federation.

The exhibition was attended by the Director General of the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Chairman of the Myanmar Rice Federation, and invited guests from relevant departments. The opening ceremony was officiated with a ribbon-cutting by the Regional Head of the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Rice Millers Association, and the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Rice Traders Association.

At the exhibition, various rice samples commonly consumed in the domestic market were showcased, including Ayeyarwady Pawsan varieties. Displays included cooked rice samples, as well as information on quality, nutritional values, and pricing by rice type. Visitors were also offered food tastings, including rice dishes, pickled tea leaves, and dried fish.

The event attracted approximately 400 visitors, of whom around 180 purchased Pawsan rice offered at affordable prices.

Rice varieties produced in the Ayeyarwady Region—including Kyarpyan, Myaungmya Pawsan, Pyapon Pawsan, Yekyi Pawsan, Bogale Pawsan, and Kyaiklat Pawsan—were noted for their reasonable pricing, ranging from MMK 120,000 to 140,000 per bag. These varieties received strong consumer interest, with visitors actively exploring the exhibits and expressing high satisfaction after tasting the rice samples.
